LACY, Philemon, Sr.

Philemon was born about 1725 in North Carolina, he married Anne Durham about 1753 and he served as a soldier in Capt. Isaiah Hogan’s Company of NC Militia in 1772. He also furnished material aid and cash to the NC, VA, & SC Militias as proven by “Accounts of the United States with NC, War of Revolution, Book C, p. 59” located in the NC Department of Archives and History.

Philemon Lacy died about 1809 in Chatham Co., NC.

Note: His son, Benjamin Lacy also served in the NC Militia during the Revolution and migrated to Christian Co., KY.
