      7. Types of Membership
        1. Regular Member – a Regular Member shall be any member of the age of eighteen years and over.
        2. Junior Member – a Junior Member is a male under the age of eighteen years who has met the membership requirements of the Sons of the American Revolution. A Junior Member cannot vote or receive The SAR Magazine until he attains the age of eighteen years.
        3. Memorial Membership – a Memorial Membership for a deceased male of the same family as current members whose application has been submitted and approved in accordance with the Bylaws of the National Society. The deceased family member eligible for memorial membership shall not be prior to the second generation prior to the generation of the current member.

      8. Who Can Join – Eligibility for Membership – Any male shall be eligible for membership in the Society being a citizen of good repute in the community, is the lineal descendant of an ancestor who was at all times unfailing in loyalty to, and rendered active service in the cause of American Independence either as an officer, soldier, seaman, marine, militiaman or minuteman, in the armed forces of the Continental Congress of any one of the several Colonies or States, as a signer of the Declaration of Independence, as a member of a Committee of Safety or Correspondence, as a member of any Continental, Provincial, or Colonial Congress or Legislature, as a foreign national of, but not limited to, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden or Switzerland who rendered service in the cause of American Independence or as a recognized patriot who performed actual service by overt acts of resistance to the authority of Great Britain, provided, however, that no person advocating the overthrow of the Government of the United States by use of force or violence shall be eligible for membership in the Society.

        1. Emergency Medical Services – performing beyond the duties normally called for within the Emergency Medical Services profession.
        2. Fire Services – for exceptional service by fire service, emergency response and fire insurance personel.
        3. Flag Display Certificates – for citizens who regularly and properly display the Flag of the United States.
        4. Good Citizenship Medals awarded for significant community leadership over a long period of time in several organizations.
        5. Heroism recognition for displaying bravery and self-sacrifice in the face of imminent danger.
        6. Law Enforcement presented for exceptional service by Police State Troopers & Officers of the Courts.
