April – Honor Flight # 1 at Cincinnati CVG Airport, Tuesday, April 19. The Color Guard and friends arrive at 7: 30PM and the Color Guard forms at 8:30PM.
May – Honor Flight # 2 at Cincinnati CVG Airport, Tuesday, May 24. The Color Guard and friends arrive at 7: 30PM and the Color Guard forms at 8:30PM. Flag placement at Highland Cemetery, in Ft. Mitchell, for all veterans. Saturday, May 28. The group forms at 8:00AM. The Florence Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30. (9:00AM) The Parade will form at the Boone County High School and end at the government buildings on Ewing Way. The Simon Kenton Chapter will be participating with the Boone DAR Chapter.
June – German Day Program at the Finley Market, Cincinnati. 10:00AM. The annual Simon Kenton Picnic and Flag Retirement Program on Saturday, June 11. The event location is the Crescent Springs Veterans Park. Please join us from 11 until 2:30. The Flag Retirement will follow lunch and a wreath laying (1:00PM) at approximately 1:30 – 2:30PM. July – The Ft. Thomas July 4th Parade will actually be on Saturday, July 2. The parade will form in front of Highlands High School at 10:00AM.
August – The 240th Blue Licks KYSSAR Meeting and Memorial Service. Color Guard forms at 9:00AM. Cincinnati’s Germania Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 27. A small parade will form at 11:00AM. Bring any type of flag.
September – Honor Flight # 3, at Cincinnati / NKY CVG Airport, September 20. The Color Guard and friends arrive at 7:30 and the Color Guard forms at 8:30. The James Kay Grave Marking on Saturday, September 10. Verona, KY. (2:00PM)
October – Honor Flight # 4, at Cincinnati / NKY CVG Airport, October 25. The Color Guard and friends arrive at 7:30 and the Color Guard forms at 8:30. The Solomon Truesdale Grave Marking on Saturday, October 22, 2:00PM. The location is 12 Mile Road, Camp Springs, KY.
November – Fall KYSSAR Meeting on Saturday, November 5th. Veterans day Programs: Friday, November 11 at Lloyd High School. Erlanger at 8:30AM; Highland Cemetery on the 13th at 2:00PM. Color Guard forms at 12:30PM. Genealogy Workshop at the Boone County Library (main branch), November 19th, 12 -3:00PM.
December – Wreaths Across America: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North (Williamstown); Evergreen Cemetery (Southgate) Dates and times to be determined.
